Terms of Use

Last updated October 12, 2026 · applies to LaunchGate 0.4.53 and later

It's free

LaunchGate costs nothing and always will. You may use it personally or at work, on as many Macs as you like, without a licence key, an account or a sign-up.

What you may do

Use it, and pass the unmodified installer along to anyone you like. Please link to launchgate.dev rather than re-hosting the download, so people get signed, current builds and security fixes actually reach them.

What you may not do

Do not sell LaunchGate, redistribute a modified or re-signed copy, or present it as your own product. Do not remove or alter its code signature — that signature is how a user knows the copy they downloaded is the one we built.

No warranty

LaunchGate is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Being plain about what that means in practice: LaunchGate decides when to start other applications. With your permission, it can also change their login items and background agents; Give Startup Back in Settings restores startup items it manages. If the network never becomes reachable it launches them anyway by default, and you can change that in Settings. It cannot guarantee any app will start, start on time, or successfully sign in. Do not rely on it as the sole mechanism for anything where a missed or delayed launch would cause harm.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vohux Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or revenue, arising from your use of LaunchGate. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law allows.

Updates

LaunchGate checks for updates via Sparkle. Check for Updates in the LaunchGate menu also starts a manual check. We may stop publishing updates at any time.

Privacy

Covered separately and in detail on the Privacy Policy page. The summary: your app list, settings and login history stay on your Mac. Update requests disclose your IP address to our host.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.
